Somewhere between the years 1998-2007, I was one half of a Hiphop production duo called the Bone Idols. The last beat I started from that period (around 2006) was called ‘YOU’.
The unresolved nature of this beat always bugged me. This is why last year, I decided to finish it with the help of my long time collaborator (the Reverent) Kevin Keys (AKA Kevin Pollard), spawning 'Keys to the Canyon'. It equally felt natural to work with Kapoo, my old friend and wordsmith to place this in another space and time.
YOU is a homage to that time in the mid 00's and an opportunity to close the book.
